“Safety and Resilience” are key ingredient in the process of developing “smart community” or “smart city” through the use of technologies. Smart community is a “risk informed, risk aware and risk ready” resilient community capable of perceiving, understanding and responding to any forewarning. Potential offered by modern technology, specially IoT, works as key enabler in realising risk resilience in the community through gathering, analysing and sharing intelligence / data / information dynamically. (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to connect and exchange data.
